Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Behavioral Focus, LLC is a faith based agency that provides therapy based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Position Overview

The Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and is responsible for the direct implementation of programs identified in the individual treatment plans (ITP) and components of behavior reduction plans (BRP). Additional duties are below.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 or in group settings
  • Implement components of BRP
  • Follow skill acquisition programs identified in the ITP
  • Collect and record data
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Complete progress notes and other daily paperwork
  • Communicate with parents, all key stakeholders and their direct supervisor about client progress and concerns
  • Acquire and maintain technical knowledge by attending and completing required trainings
  • Maintain ethical standards of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • Provide oversight for caseload of RBTs
  • Assists BCBA with conducting individual treatment plans (ITPs) and behavior reduction plans (BRP)
  • Assists BCBA in data analysis and program revisions
  • Performs formative fidelity checks and RBT competency assessments

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds • Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment. • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time. • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time. • Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the BRP in the course of working with children with challenging behavior. • Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection. • Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements. • Must be able to receive detailed information through verbal communication. • Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means. •Must have fine motor skills to operate electronic devices. Ability to use word processing program and emails. Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites within the our location areas • Must have a valid Texas or Tennessee (depending on location) Driver’s License & insurance in good standing.

Work Environment

Works in the clinical (office) setting, in schools, the community and in client homes.

Job Qualifications

Required: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in ABA or related field, along with certification of BCaBA in good standing through BACB®, demonstrated leadership skills in a positive manner, excellent written and oral skills, ability to take initiative, work independently, and demonstrate excellent time management skills. Maintain a clean background check.

Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Hearing Services, or related field. Three years experience working in a clinical, home or educational setting with

individuals with special needs utilizing ABA principles and methods. Experience assisting in the following: conducting skills assessment (i.e., VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, PEAK), conducting functional behavior assessments and functional analyses, program writing, data analysis, and creating ITPs and BRPs.
