Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Position Overview
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) and is responsible for the direct implementation of programs identified in the individual treatment plans (ITP) and components of behavior reduction plans (BRP).
Responsibilities
- Provide direct client care in 1:1 or in group settings
- Implement components of BRP
- Follow skill acquisition programs identified in the ITP
- Collect and record data
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Complete progress notes and other daily paperwork
- Communicate with parents, all key stakeholders and their direct supervisor about client progress and concerns
- Acquire and maintain technical knowledge by attending and completing required trainings
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment. Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
Work Environment
Works in the clinical (office) setting, in schools, the community and in client homes.

Job Qualifications
Required: High School Diploma and 30 hours of college coursework from an accredited university or junior college. Or experience delivering Applied Behavior Analysis services may be substituted for hours of completed college coursework.
Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Hearing Services, or related field. One (1) year experience working in a clinical, home or educational setting with
individuals with special needs. Registered Behavior Technician credential from BACB®
